'PERFECT-10' TIPS FOR FUNDRAISING SUCCESS!!!
(How to Have a Successful Fundraiser!!!)
(1) Plan for Success! . . . If you don't plan to succeed - you will plan to fail! . . . Only a serious, determined and planned effort will bring you success! . . . Takes a lot of time and energy to do successful fundraising! . . . Do not approach it with 'half-heartedness'! . . . MAKE IT COUNT! . . . Why not 'PLAN' to 'Have a Successful Fundraiser'! . . . Be an inspiring and prepared leader! . . . Present 'A Plan for Success'!!!

(2) Schedule a 'Prime-Time' Presentation! . . . Schedule it on a day and at a time and a place (when and where) you can get the most possible members of your group or organization together for a positive, inspiring and informative challenge!

(3) Announce the 'Prime-Time' Presentation! . . . Include by mail, email and phone . . . in the announcement . . .

  • The date, time and place!
  • The purpose . . . Why are we doing this fundraiser? - Where is the money going?
  • Why are we having this 'Prime-Time' Presentation? . . . Answer: So we all can begin the fundraiser in unison and leave the presentation informed, united andinspired to do our fare share to make this fundraiser highly successful!

Explain that when a large majority of the group is in attendance . . . that, this 'loyal participation' has the potential of 'doubling' the amount of money or funds we raise . . . making this fundraiser a 'smashing success'!

Last, but not least . . . further explain that this 'solid cooperation' is a 'positive gauge' of what we can actually expect to happen 'in The Church' - 'in the school' - 'on the field' - 'in the classroom' - 'on the floor' - 'on the ice' - 'on the green' or 'in the office', etc. - and, as the direct result of 'our united effort'. . . this incredible 'strength in unity' breeds great success!!! 'Unity is an Inspiring and Contagious Thing'!!!

(4) Have the 'Prime-Time' Presentation! . . . Project a 'firm expectancy' . . . don't hang loose! . . . Firmly expect each member to sell a pre-determined number of items each . . . transfer this firm expectancy to each member of the group so they will accept the responsibility of doing his/her fair share to make the fundraiser a success.

(5) Give 'INDIVIDUAL CREDIT' to each member of your group for their individual sales. It is not fair to share the profit of an industrious member of your group who has worked hard with another or others in the group who has demonstrated a poor effort. This is demoralizing! - - - (This does not always apply!) - - - Very often it applies only to smaller groups such as school classes, sports teams or youth groups that are taking a trip. - However, this does not usually apply to larger groups such as an entire school, league, club, association or organization where the funds from a fundraiser must benefit the entire group as a whole.

(6) Make a List of your Potential Customers! . . . Have your members within a 24-hour period after they leave the presentation to make a list of all their potential customers. Most of them know at least 25-50 prospects they can approach for a sale. The selling period for a fundraiser should not be over 2 weeks. . . . A member should contact all of the prospects on
their list by phone the first week of the fundraiser. . . . The second week should be spent personally visiting these prospects to secure a sale and at that time collecting money for the sale. In this approach there is no door-to-door selling! . . . Also, the member at this point, at the end of 2 weeks, is now ready to turn his/her order and money in to the fundraising coordinator.

(7) Aim High! - Set a Goal! - Demonstrate to your Members their Potential Profit! . . . Using our 'Prices & Profits Schedule' and 'Fundraising Success Stories' enclosed in our 'FREE Fundraising Packet' . . . inspire your group to their max potential! . . . The prices of our fundraisers begin at $6.00. . . Below, we have given several examples of the profit your group can make selling our $15 Fundraiser. In consideration of the size of your group, you may use any one of the examples to challenge your group with . . .

  • 10 members selling an average of 20 ($15-items) each will make a total profit of $900.00
  • 20 members selling an average of 15 ($15-items) each will make a total profit of $1,575.00
  • 25 members selling an average of 20 ($15-items) each will make a total profit of $3,375.00
  • 75 members selling an average of 15 ($15-items) each will make a total profit of $8,437.50
  • 125 members selling an average of 15 ($15-items) each will make a total profit of $14,062.50
  • 250 members selling an average of 10 ($15-items) each will make a total profit of $20,625.00
  • 350 members selling an average of 10 ($15-items) each will make a total profit of $31,500.00
  • 500 members selling an average of 10 ($15-items) each will make a total profit of $45,000.00

(8) Offer an Incentive! . . . Offer a 'Drawing for a Cash Prize'!!! (This is a proven winner!) . . . Gives everyone who sells just 10 items a chance to win!!! . . . For every 10 items sold . . . give 1 chance to win! - - - The member who sells 20 items will have 2 chances to win! - - - The member who sells 50 items will have 5 chances!

(9) Have a 'Commitment Time'! . . . This is the most important part of your presentation! . . . End your 'Prime- Time' Presentation by having each member of your group commit to selling a given number of items! . . . Explain to them that you are only asking for a 'sincere effort' and that they just simply need to try and do their best . . . that the success of this fundraiser depends upon their best - nothing less!!!

Finally, be bold, confident and decisive! . . . Get everyone on his/her feet or have everyone stand who will • (TRY) • to sell 50 Items - - - then bring it down to 25 Items and then finally . . . to just 10 Items! . . . The person who sincerely tries to sell 50 Items should easily sell at least 25 Items! . . . The above approach and challenge is really exciting and has the incredible potential of rewarding you with Generous Funds that exceed Your Goal and Need!!!

(10) Make the 'Prime-Presentation' a 'BIG DEAL'!!! . . . You then will have the 'Perfect 10' Fundraiser'!!! . . . This will produce 'Huge Results'!!! . . . Just sincerely and enthusiastically 'try it'!!!

REMEMBER: "Be inspired by those who DO!!! . . . DO NOT be discouraged and demoralized by those who DON'T"!!! - 'GO FOR IT'!!! - 'YOU CAN DO IT'!!! . . . You then, will be a WINNER and have a great fundraiser!!!
